Foldcrumbs works on your iPhone. There is no account, no developer server, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. By default the app makes no network requests.
Foldcrumbs only reads the vaults and folders you choose, never writes to them, and keeps its memories and index inside the app, on your iPhone. You decide whether they are included in your iPhone backup, and you can export them.
Search uses a model bundled with the app (EmbeddingGemma 2 by Google DeepMind, Apache License 2.0), running on device. No text is sent to Google or anyone else.
Written answers are generated on device by Apple Intelligence (Apple's Foundation Models), when available.
Distillation (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, Foldcrumbs rewrites your notes into memories using the provider you choose:
Apple's on-device model: nothing leaves your iPhone.
Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT) or an OpenAI-compatible address you enter, with your own API key (kept in the iPhone Keychain). The text of the notes you include is sent directly from your iPhone to that provider over HTTPS, after secrets are removed; you can exclude sources. The provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy (for example Anthropic, OpenAI) and may keep it for a limited time. The developer never receives it.
Before anything is sent, Foldcrumbs shows how many notes will go out, to which service and address, and asks for your confirmation. You can turn distillation off or delete the key at any time in Settings.
If you also use another app by the same developer that is paired with Foldcrumbs, the two apps can share data on your iPhone through an App Group; nothing is sent to the developer.
Deleting the app removes its data. If you linked it to F.R.I.D.A.Y., the data already shared stays in the shared space as long as another app of the group (F.R.I.D.A.Y., Foldcrumbs or FoldFinder) is still installed, and is deleted when you remove that one too.
il modello Apple sul telefono: niente esce dall'iPhone;
Cancellare l'app rimuove i suoi dati.
