FoldFinder answers questions about the documents in a folder on your iPhone (PDFs, scans, text and Markdown files, photos and audio recordings), citing its sources. Everything happens on your iPhone.
I only see the passages found, not a written answer.
Written answers use Apple Intelligence: you need a compatible iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri. Without it, FoldFinder still shows the passages it found, with their sources.
Where is the Examples folder?
In the Files app › On My iPhone › FoldFinder › Esempi. The documents are made up; you can delete them and choose a folder of your own.
Which files does it read?
PDFs (scanned ones too, via on-device text recognition), .txt and .md files, exported notes. Images in the folder (jpg, png, heic) and, if you allow it, your photo library: found by what they show and by their text. Audio (m4a, mp3, wav): transcribed on device, and a tap jumps to the right minute. Apple Voice Memos can't be read by other apps: share them to Files, into the chosen folder.
How do I clear a question?
Tap the ✕ at the right of the question field: the field and the previous results are cleared.
Does the index stay up to date?
Yes: tap “Update Now”, or let it update at night while your iPhone is charging. Only new or changed files are read again.
Write to expert@slackarea.net with a subject that starts with “FoldFinder” (for example “FoldFinder: question about…”), otherwise the message may get lost.

Le risposte scritte usano Apple Intelligence: serve un iPhone compatibile con Apple Intelligence attiva in Impostazioni › Apple Intelligence e Siri. Senza, FoldFinder mostra comunque i passaggi trovati con le fonti.
Dov'è la cartella Esempi?
Nell'app File › Sul mio iPhone › FoldFinder › Esempi. I documenti sono inventati: puoi cancellarli e scegliere una cartella tua.
Quali file legge?
PDF (anche scansionati, con il riconoscimento del testo sul telefono), file .txt e .md, note esportate. Le immagini della cartella (jpg, png, heic) e, se lo permetti, la libreria foto: le trova per quello che mostrano e per il testo. Audio (m4a, mp3, wav): trascritto sul telefono, con un tocco che porta al minuto giusto. I Memo Vocali di Apple non sono leggibili da altre app: condividili in File, dentro la cartella scelta.
Come cancello una domanda?
Tocca la ✕ a destra del campo: si svuotano il campo e i risultati precedenti.
L'indice resta aggiornato?
Sì: tocca «Aggiorna ora», oppure lascia che si aggiorni di notte mentre l'iPhone è in carica. Rilegge solo i file nuovi o cambiati.
